In March 2026, FPWR UK hosted our first ever research family day at Edinburgh Zoo, celebrating 15 years of FPWR UK! We were very kindly given some funds from our Gold Sponsor – Soleno Therapeutics, Silver Sponsor – Aardvark Therapeutics and Bronze Sponsor – Harmony Biosciences to share with our community and give them an insight into research trials taking place and giving them and their families a nice, hopeful and informative day. And we then hosted a second in April at Drayton Manor!
At Edinburgh Zoo, we were joined by representatives from Soleno Therapeutics and Cambridge University who shared their hopes for the future in research as well as research projects currently taken place at Cambridge and their hopes of how their findings can improve and support treatments in Prader-Willi Syndrome. At Drayton Manor, the celebrations continued! and an amazing day was had! Whilst Soleno Therapeutics were unfortunately unable to join us, we were joined by more speakers from Cambridge University. We were also able to enjoy the company of lots of families who were hopefully given hope for the future and for their loved ones with PWS and friendships were made. As well as a very special visit from PeeWee himself!
We were able to look back and see where we were 15 years ago, and how the world of research in PWS has evolved over the years and we feel hopeful for the future of those with PWS. We at FPWR UK had a great time and we hope that everyone who joined us did too!
